Faith Statement
Seekers International is totally committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and holds firmly to the truth that the bible in its entirety is the inspired Word of God. To ensure that pre-eminence is given to Christian principles in the life and philosophy of the Seminary, the administration, faculty and staff ascribe to the following:-
- The Bible is God’s written revelation to man. The verbally inspired, infallible, inerrant word of the living God. The supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. [2 Tim 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Jude 3].
- God is eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Co-eternal in being, co-equal in power and glory, identical in their essence, nature, attributes and perfection [ Deuter 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; Matt 2819; 2 Cor 13:14 ]
- Jesus Christ. His pre-existence and deity, His incarnation by virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection, ascension, His present ministry and His coming again. [John 1:13, 14; Matt 1:18-23; Heb 4:15; 1 Cor 15:21; Luke 24:36-43; Heb 4:14-16; Acts 1:11].
- Holy Spirit. The third person of the Godhead, His personality, His deity, He convicts, regenerates, baptizes, indwells and empowers all believers for Christian life and service [ John 16:7-15; Acts 5:3-4; 1 Cor 12:13; Romans 8:9; Eph 5:18;3:16; Acts 1:8; Gal 5:22,23 ].
- Man. Originally created in the image and likeness of God, rebelled, resulting in sin and spiritual death; in need of new birth for salvation. [Gen 1:26-28; 3:1-24; Rom 5:12; John 3:16.]
- Salvation complete, eternal provided by God’s grace alone, a gift from God through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His complete work. [Eph 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Peter 1:18, 19.]
- Satan is an evil, malignant and personal being. His existence as the great adversary of God and His people, his judgement, and final destruction. [Rev 12:1-10; John 12:31; Rev 20:10.]
- The Church – the Body and Bride of Christ, a spiritual organism composed of all true believers of the present age, organised in local churches to witness for Christ, preach the gospel, edify believers and co-operate in fellowship and work. [Matt 28:19, 20; Acts 2:42-47; Eph 4:11-16].
- Second Coming – the personal, visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ to the earth to judge and purge sin and establish His eternal Kingdom. [1 Thess 4:16, 17; Rev 19: 11 – 20:6.]
